HIV/HCV coinfection model: a fractional-order perspective for the effect of the HIV viral load

چکیده
We study the burden of the HIV viremia and of treatment efficacy in the severity of the patterns of the HIV/HCV coinfection. For this, we derive a simple non-integer-order (fractional-order) model for the coinfection dynamics. Fractional-order models have been proved in the literature to provide good fits to real data from patients suffering from several diseases, such as HIV, dengue fever, and others. We have computed the basic reproduction number and the stability of the disease-free equilibrium of the model. The numerical results suggest that the HIV viral load impacts impressively the severity of the HCV infection. The treatment efficacy is also found to influence the natural progression of HCV on the HIV/HCV coinfection. The latter is repeated for all values of the order of the fractional derivative. Moreover, the fractional derivative may pave the way to better understanding the individuals’ patients’ adjustments to treatment and to viremia.

A nonstandard finite difference scheme for solving fractional-order model of HIV-1 infection of CD4^{+} t-cells
In this paper, we introduce fractional-order into a model of HIV-1 infection of CD4^+ T--cells. We study the effect of the changing the average number of viral particles $N$ with different sets of initial conditions on the dynamics of the presented model. The nonstandard finite difference (NSFD) scheme is implemented to study the dynamic behaviors in the fractional--order HIV-1 ...

In this article, we present a fractional order HIV-1 infection model of CD4+ T-cell. We analyze the effect of the changing the average number of the viral particle N with initial conditions of the presented model. The Laplace Adomian decomposition method is applying to check the analytical solution of the problem. We obtain the solutions of the fractional order HIV-1 model in the form of infini...
متن کاملModeling the effect of HIV coinfection on clearance and sustained virologic response during treatment for hepatitis C virus.
BACKGROUND HIV/hepatitis C (HCV) coinfection is a major concern in global health today. Each pathogen can exacerbate the effects of the other and affect treatment outcomes. Understanding the within-host dynamics of these coinfecting pathogens is crucial, particularly in light of new, direct-acting antiviral agents (DAAs) for HCV treatment that are becoming available. METHODS AND FINDINGS In t...

BACKGROUND Previous studies in patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV)/HIV coinfection have shown that the presence of GBV-C is associated with significantly less compensated and decompensated cirrhosis, and an improvement in cirrhosis-free survival. OBJECTIVES This study aimed to describe the effect of GBV-C in patients with chronic hepatitis C and HIV coinfection. PATIENTS AND METHODS We re...
